Allahumma lakal hamdu anta kasawtanihi, as’aluka khayrahu wa khayra ma suni’a lahu, wa a’udhu bika min sharrihi wa sharri ma suni’a lahu.
English Translation:
O Allah, all praise is for You. You have clothed me with this. I ask You for its goodness and the goodness of what it was made for, and I seek refuge in You from its evil and the evil of what it was made for.

اے اللّٰہ! سب تعریفیں تیرے لیے ہیں، تو نے مجھے یہ پہنایا ہے۔ میں تجھ سے اس کی بھلائی اور اس مقصد کی بھلائی مانگتا ہوں جس کے لیے یہ بنایا گیا ہے، اور میں تجھ سے اس کے شر اور اس مقصد کے شر سے پناہ مانگتا ہوں جس کے لیے یہ بنایا گیا ہے۔

Bismillahi walajna, wa bismillahi kharajna, wa ‘ala Allahi rabbina tawakkalna.
English Translation:
In the name of Allah, we enter, and in the name of Allah, we leave, and upon our Lord, we rely.
Urdu Translation:
اللّٰہ کے نام سے ہم داخل ہوتے ہیں، اللّٰہ کے نام سے ہم نکلتے ہیں، اور ہم اپنے رب پر بھروسہ کرتے ہیں۔

Arabic Text:
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ عَلَى اللَّهِ وَلَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللَّهِ
Bismillahi tawakkaltu ‘ala Allahi wa la hawla wa la quwwata illa billah.
English Translation:
In the name of Allah, I place my trust in Allah, and there is no power nor might except with Allah.

اللّٰہ کے نام سے، میں اللّٰہ پر بھروسہ کرتا ہوں، اور اللّٰہ کے بغیر کوئی طاقت اور قوت نہیں۔

English Translation:
I entrust your religion, your trust, and the last of your deeds to Allah.

Dua When Getting Into a Vehicle
Arabic Text:
سُبْحَانَ الَّذِي سَخَّرَ لَنَا هَذَا وَمَا كُنَّا لَهُ مُقْرِنِينَ وَإِنَّا إِلَىٰ رَبِّنَا لَمُنْقَلِبُونَ
Subhanalladhi sakhkhara lana hadha wama kunna lahu muqrinin wa inna ila rabbina lamunqalibun.
English Translation:
Glory is to Him who has subjected this for us, and we could not have done it by ourselves. And indeed, to our Lord, we will return.
Urdu Translation:
پاک ہے وہ ذات جس نے اسے ہمارے قابو میں دیا، حالانکہ ہم خود اسے قابو میں نہیں لا سکتے تھے، اور بیشک ہم اپنے رب کی طرف ہی لوٹ کر جانے والے ہیں۔

Arabic Text:
اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّا نَسْأَلُكَ فِي سَفَرِنَا هَذَا الْبِرَّ وَالتَّقْوَىٰ، وَمِنَ الْعَمَلِ مَا تَرْضَىٰ، اللَّهُمَّ هَوِّنْ عَلَيْنَا سَفَرَنَا هَذَا، وَاطْوِ عَنَّا بُعْدَهُ، اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ الصَّاحِبُ فِي السَّفَرِ، وَالْخَلِيفَةُ فِي الْأَهْلِ، اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ وَعْثَاءِ السَّفَرِ، وَكَآبَةِ الْمَنْظَرِ، وَسُوءِ الْمُنْقَلَبِ فِي الْمَالِ وَالْأَهْلِ.
Allahumma inna nas’aluka fi safarina hadha al-birra wa at-taqwa, wa mina al-‘amali ma tardha. Allahumma hawwin ‘alayna safarana hadha, wa-twi ‘anna bu’dahu. Allahumma anta as-sahibu fi as-safar, wa al-khalifatu fi al-ahl. Allahumma inni a’udhu bika min wa’tha’is-safar, wa ka’ābatil-manzar, wa su’il-munqalabi fi al-mali wal-ahl.
English Translation:
“O Allah, we ask You for righteousness and piety in this journey and for deeds that please You. O Allah, make this journey easy for us and shorten its distance. O Allah, You are the Companion on the journey and the Guardian of the family. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the hardships of travel, from having a sorrowful sight, and from returning in a bad state concerning our wealth and family.”
Urdu Translation:
“اے اللہ! ہم تجھ سے اس سفر میں نیکی اور پرہیزگاری کا سوال کرتے ہیں اور ایسے اعمال کا جو تجھے راضی کریں۔ اے اللہ! ہمارے لیے اس سفر کو آسان کر دے اور اس کی دوری کو ہمارے لیے مختصر کر دے۔ اے اللہ! تو ہی سفر میں ساتھی ہے اور گھر والوں کا نگہبان ہے۔ اے اللہ! میں تجھ سے سفر کی مشقت، تکلیف دہ منظر اور مال و اہل میں برے انجام سے پناہ مانگتا ہوں۔”

Ashhadu an lā ilāha illallāhu waḥdahu lā sharīka lahū, wa ashhadu anna Muḥammadan ‘abduhū wa rasūluhū. Allāhummaj‘alnī minat-tawwābīna waj‘alnī minal-mutaṭahhirīn.
English Translation:
I bear witness that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah, alone, with no partner, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger. O Allah, make me among those who repent often and among those who purify themselves.
Urdu Translation:
میں گواہی دیتا ہوں کہ اللّٰہ کے سوا کوئی معبود نہیں، وہ اکیلا ہے، اس کا کوئی شریک نہیں، اور میں گواہی دیتا ہوں کہ محمد ﷺ اس کے بندے اور رسول ہیں۔ اے اللّٰہ! مجھے ان لوگوں میں شامل کر جو زیادہ توبہ کرنے والے ہیں اور جو پاکیزگی اختیار کرتے ہیں۔

Subhānaka Allāhumma wa bihamdika, wa tabāraka ismuka, wa ta‘āla jadduka, wa lā ilāha ghayruk.
English Translation:
Glory is to You, O Allah, and praise. Blessed is Your Name, and exalted is Your Majesty. There is no god besides You.
Urdu Translation:
اے اللہ! تو پاک ہے اور تیری تعریف کے ساتھ ہے، تیرا نام بابرکت ہے، تیری شان بلند ہے، اور تیرے سوا کوئی معبود نہیں۔

English Translation:
All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of all the worlds.
The Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
Master of the Day of Judgment.
You alone we worship, and You alone we ask for help.
Guide us to the straight path.
The path of those whom You have blessed.
Not of those who have incurred Your wrath, nor of those who have gone astray.
Urdu Translation:
سب تعریفیں اللہ کے لیے ہیں جو تمام جہانوں کا پروردگار ہے۔
نہایت مہربان، بہت رحم فرمانے والا۔
جزا و سزا کے دن کا مالک۔
ہم تیری ہی عبادت کرتے ہیں اور تجھ ہی سے مدد مانگتے ہیں۔
ہمیں سیدھا راستہ دکھا۔
ان لوگوں کا راستہ جن پر تو نے انعام فرمایا۔
نہ ان کا راستہ جن پر تیرا غضب نازل ہوا اور نہ ہی گمراہوں کا۔

Our Lord, and to You is all praise, an abundant, pure, and blessed praise.

Allahumma ighfir li, warhamni, wajburni, warfa‘ni, wahdini, wa‘afini, warzuqni.
English Translation:
O Allah, forgive me, have mercy on me, mend my affairs, elevate my status, guide me, grant me well-being, and provide for me.
Urdu Translation:
اے اللہ! مجھے بخش دے، مجھ پر رحم فرما، میرے معاملات درست کر دے، میرا درجہ بلند کر، مجھے ہدایت دے، مجھے عافیت عطا فرما، اور مجھے رزق عطا فرما۔

اَلتَّحِيَّاتُ لِلّٰهِ وَالصَّلَوٰتُ وَالطَّيِّبَاتُ، اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ أَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ وَرَحْمَةُ اللّٰهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ، اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْنَا وَعَلَىٰ عِبَادِ اللّٰهِ الصَّالِحِينَ، أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا اللّٰهُ، وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ
At-tahiyyātu lillāhi was-salawātu wat-tayyibāt, as-salāmu ‘alayka ayyuhan-nabiyyu wa rahmatullāhi wa barakātuh, as-salāmu ‘alaynā wa ‘alā ‘ibādillāhis-sālihīn, ash-hadu an lā ilāha illallāh, wa ash-hadu anna Muhammadan ‘abduhu wa rasūluh.
English Translation:
All compliments, prayers, and pure words are due to Allah. Peace be upon you, O Prophet, and the mercy of Allah and His blessings. Peace be upon us and upon the righteous slaves of Allah. I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.
Urdu Translation:
تمام زبانی، بدنی، اور مالی عبادات اللہ کے لیے ہیں۔ اے نبی! آپ پر سلامتی ہو اور اللہ کی رحمت اور برکت ہو۔ ہم پر اور اللہ کے نیک بندوں پر سلامتی ہو۔ میں گواہی دیتا ہوں کہ اللہ کے سوا کوئی معبود نہیں، اور میں گواہی دیتا ہوں کہ محمدﷺ اللہ کے بندے اور رسول ہیں۔

اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلَىٰ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ، كَمَا صَلَّيْتَ عَلَىٰ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَعَلَىٰ آلِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، إِنَّكَ حَمِيدٌ مَجِيدٌ، اللَّهُمَّ بَارِكْ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلَىٰ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ، كَمَا بَارَكْتَ عَلَىٰ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَعَلَىٰ آلِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، إِنَّكَ حَمِيدٌ مَجِيدٌ
Allahumma salli ‘ala Muhammadin wa ‘ala aali Muhammadin, kama sallayta ‘ala Ibrahima wa ‘ala aali Ibrahima, innaka Hamidun Majid. Allahumma barik ‘ala Muhammadin wa ‘ala aali Muhammadin, kama barakta ‘ala Ibrahima wa ‘ala aali Ibrahima, innaka Hamidun Majid.
English Translation:
O Allah! Send blessings upon Muhammad and upon the family of Muhammad as You sent blessings upon Ibrahim and upon the family of Ibrahim. Indeed, You are Praiseworthy and Glorious. O Allah! Bestow blessings upon Muhammad and upon the family of Muhammad as You bestowed blessings upon Ibrahim and upon the family of Ibrahim. Indeed, You are Praiseworthy and Glorious.
Urdu Translation:
اے اللہ! محمدﷺ اور ان کی آل پر رحمت نازل فرما، جیسے تو نے ابراہیمؑ اور ان کی آل پر رحمت نازل فرمائی۔ بے شک، تو تعریف والا، بزرگی والا ہے۔ اے اللہ! محمدﷺ اور ان کی آل پر برکت نازل فرما، جیسے تو نے ابراہیمؑ اور ان کی آل پر برکت نازل فرمائی۔ بے شک، تو تعریف والا، بزرگی والا ہے۔

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ عَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ عَذَابِ جَهَنَّمَ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ فِتْنَةِ الْمَسِيحِ الدَّجَّالِ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ فِتْنَةِ الْمَحْيَا وَالْمَمَاتِ، اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْمَأْثَمِ وَالْمَغْرَمِ.
Allahumma inni a’udhu bika min ‘adhabil-qabri, wa a’udhu bika min ‘adhabi jahannama, wa a’udhu bika min fitnatil-masihid-dajjal, wa a’udhu bika min fitnatil-mahya wal-mamat, Allahumma inni a’udhu bika minal-ma’thami wal-maghram.
English Translation:
O Allah! I seek refuge in You from the punishment of the grave, and I seek refuge in You from the punishment of Hellfire, and I seek refuge in You from the trials of the false Messiah (Dajjal), and I seek refuge in You from the trials of life and death. O Allah! I seek refuge in You from sin and heavy debt.
Urdu Translation:
اے اللہ! میں تیری پناہ مانگتا ہوں قبر کے عذاب سے، اور میں تیری پناہ مانگتا ہوں جہنم کے عذاب سے، اور میں تیری پناہ مانگتا ہوں دجال کے فتنے سے، اور میں تیری پناہ مانگتا ہوں زندگی اور موت کے فتنے سے۔ اے اللہ! میں تیری پناہ مانگتا ہوں گناہ اور قرض کے بوجھ سے۔

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي ظَلَمْتُ نَفْسِي ظُلْمًا كَثِيرًا، وَلَا يَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوبَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ، فَاغْفِرْ لِي مَغْفِرَةً مِنْ عِنْدِكَ، وَارْحَمْنِي، إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ الْغَفُورُ الرَّحِيمُ
Allahumma inni zalamtu nafsi zulman kathiran, wa la yaghfiruz-zunuba illa anta, faghfir li maghfiratan min ‘indika, warhamni, innaka antal-Ghafurur-Rahim.
English Translation:
O Allah! I have greatly wronged myself, and none forgives sins except You, so grant me forgiveness from Yourself and have mercy on me. Indeed, You are the Most Forgiving, the Most Merciful.
Urdu Translation:
اے اللہ! میں نے اپنی جان پر بہت ظلم کیا، اور تیرے سوا کوئی گناہوں کو معاف نہیں کرتا، پس مجھے اپنی طرف سے بخشش عطا فرما اور مجھ پر رحم فرما، بے شک تو ہی بخشنے والا، نہایت رحم کرنے والا ہے۔

رَبِّ اجْعَلْنِي مُقِيمَ الصَّلَاةِ وَمِنْ ذُرِّيَّتِي، رَبَّنَا وَتَقَبَّلْ دُعَاءِ، رَبَّنَا اغْفِرْ لِي وَلِوَالِدَيَّ وَلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ يَوْمَ يَقُومُ الْحِسَابُ
Rabbi aj‘alni muqimas-salati wa min dhurriyati, rabbana wa taqabbal du‘a, rabbana ighfir li wa liwalidayya wa lil-mu’minina yawma yaqum-ul-hisab.
English Translation:
My Lord, make me an establisher of prayer, and [also] from my descendants. Our Lord, and accept my supplication. Our Lord, forgive me and my parents and the believers on the Day the account is established.
Urdu Translation:
اے میرے رب! مجھے نماز قائم کرنے والا بنا اور میری اولاد میں سے بھی۔ اے ہمارے رب! میری دعا قبول فرما۔ اے ہمارے رب! مجھے، میرے والدین کو اور تمام ایمان والوں کو اس دن بخش دے جب حساب قائم ہوگا۔

اللَّهُمَّ رَبَّ هَذِهِ الدَّعْوَةِ التَّامَّةِ وَالصَّلَاةِ الْقَائِمَةِ، آتِ مُحَمَّدًا الْوَسِيلَةَ وَالْفَضِيلَةَ، وَابْعَثْهُ مَقَامًا مَحْمُودًا الَّذِي وَعَدْتَهُ
Allahumma Rabba hadhihi ad-da’wati at-taammati was-salatil qa’imati, aati Muhammadan al-wasilata wal-fadilata, wab’ath-hu maqaman mahmudan alladhi wa’adtahu.
English Translation:
O Allah! Lord of this perfect call and the established prayer, grant Muhammad the intercession and honor, and raise him to the praised station You have promised him.
Urdu Translation:
اے اللہ! اس مکمل پکار اور قائم نماز کے رب، محمدﷺ کو وسیلہ اور فضیلت عطا فرما، اور انہیں اس مقام محمود پر فائز کر جس کا تو نے ان سے وعدہ کیا ہے۔

اللَّهُمَّ اهْدِنِي فِيمَنْ هَدَيْتَ، وَعَافِنِي فِيمَنْ عَافَيْتَ، وَتَوَلَّنِي فِيمَنْ تَوَلَّيْتَ، وَبَارِكْ لِي فِيمَا أَعْطَيْتَ، وَقِنِي شَرَّ مَا قَضَيْتَ، فَإِنَّكَ تَقْضِي وَلَا يُقْضَىٰ عَلَيْكَ، وَإِنَّهُ لَا يَذِلُّ مَنْ وَالَيْتَ، وَلَا يَعِزُّ مَنْ عَادَيْتَ، تَبَارَكْتَ رَبَّنَا وَتَعَالَيْتَ
Allahumma ihdini fi man hadayta, wa ‘aafini fi man ‘aafayta, wa tawallani fi man tawallayta, wa barik li fima a’tayta, wa qini sharra ma qadayta, fa innaka taqdi wa la yuqda ‘alayk, wa innahu la yadhillu man walayta, wa la ya’izzu man ‘adayta, tabarakta Rabbana wa ta’alayta.
English Translation:
O Allah! Guide me among those You have guided. Grant me well-being among those You have granted well-being. Protect me among those You have protected. Bless me in what You have given. Save me from the evil of what You have decreed. Indeed, You decree, and none can decree over You. He whom You support will never be humiliated, and he whom You oppose will never have honor. You are Blessed, our Lord, and Exalted.
Urdu Translation:
اے اللہ! مجھے ان میں شامل کر جو تیری ہدایت یافتہ ہیں۔ مجھے ان میں شامل کر جنہیں تو نے عافیت دی۔ مجھے ان میں شامل کر جن کا تو کارساز بنا۔ جو کچھ تو نے عطا کیا، اس میں میرے لیے برکت دے۔ مجھے اس چیز کے شر سے بچا جس کا تو نے فیصلہ کیا۔ بے شک، تو فیصلہ کرتا ہے اور تجھ پر کوئی فیصلہ نافذ نہیں ہو سکتا۔ جس کا تو دوست بنے، وہ ذلیل نہیں ہوتا، اور جس سے تو دشمنی رکھے، وہ کبھی عزت نہیں پاتا۔ اے ہمارے رب! تو بابرکت اور بلند ہے۔

Subhanal-Maliki-l-Quddusi (thalathan, wa yamuddu sawtahu fi-th-thalithah).
English Translation:
Glory is to the King, the Holy One (Three times, prolonging the voice in the third).

پاکی ہے بادشاہ کو، جو نہایت پاک ہے (تین بار، تیسری بار آواز کھینچ کر پڑھنی چاہیے)۔

اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ السَّلَامُ وَمِنْكَ السَّلَامُ، تَبَارَكْتَ يَا ذَا الْجَلَالِ وَالْإِكْرَامِ
Astaghfirullah (thalatha marrat)
Allahumma Antas-Salam wa minka as-Salam, tabarakta ya Dhal-Jalali wal-Ikram.
English Translation:
I seek forgiveness from Allah (Three times).
O Allah! You are Peace, and from You comes peace. Blessed are You, O Possessor of Glory and Honor.
Urdu Translation:
میں اللہ سے بخشش مانگتا ہوں (تین بار)۔
اے اللہ! تو سلامتی والا ہے اور تجھ سے ہی سلامتی آتی ہے، تو بابرکت ہے، اے بزرگی اور عزت والے!

Dua At the Time of Death
Arabic Text:
اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي، وَارْفَعْ دَرَجَتِي فِي الْمَهْدِيِّينَ، وَاخْلُفْنِي فِي عَقِبِي فِي الْغَابِرِينَ، وَاغْفِرْ لَنَا وَلَهُ يَا رَبَّ الْعَالَمِينَ، وَافْسَحْ لَهُ فِي قَبْرِهِ، وَنَوِّرْ لَهُ فِيهِ
Allāhumma ighfir lī, warfa‘ darajatī fī al-mahdiyyīn, wakhlufnī fī ‘aqibī fī al-ghābirīn, waghfir lanā walahu yā Rabb al-‘ālamīn, wafsah lahu fī qabrihi, wanawwir lahu fīhi.
English Translation:
O Allah! Forgive me and elevate my rank among the rightly guided. Grant me successors among those left behind. O Lord of the worlds, forgive us and him. Make his grave spacious and illuminate it for him.
Urdu Translation:
اے اللہ! مجھے بخش دے اور مجھے ہدایت یافتہ لوگوں میں بلند مقام عطا فرما۔ میرے بعد میری نسل میں برکت عطا فرما۔ اے تمام جہانوں کے رب! ہمیں اور اسے بخش دے۔ اس کی قبر کو کشادہ کر دے اور اس میں نور بھر دے۔

اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لَهُ وَارْحَمْهُ وَعَافِهِ وَاعْفُ عَنْهُ، وَأَكْرِمْ نُزُلَهُ، وَوَسِّعْ مُدْخَلَهُ، وَاغْسِلْهُ بِالْمَاءِ وَالثَّلْجِ وَالْبَرَدِ، وَنَقِّهِ مِنَ الْخَطَايَا كَمَا نَقَّيْتَ الثَّوْبَ الأَبْيَضَ مِنَ الدَّنَسِ، وَأَبْدِلْهُ دَارًا خَيْرًا مِنْ دَارِهِ، وَأَهْلًا خَيْرًا مِنْ أَهْلِهِ، وَزَوْجًا خَيْرًا مِنْ زَوْجِهِ، وَأَدْخِلْهُ الْجَنَّةَ، وَأَعِذْهُ مِنْ عَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ أَوْ مِنْ عَذَابِ النَّارِ.
Note: Thus, replace all masculine pronouns (هُ) with feminine pronouns (هَا) in the supplication when praying for a woman.
Allahummaghfir lahu warhamhu wa ‘afihi wa’fu ‘anhu, wa akrim nuzulahu, wa wassi’ mudkhalahu, waghsilhu bil-ma’i wath-thalji wal-barad, wa naqqihi minal-khataya kama naqqaytath-thawbal-abyada minad-danas, wa abdilhu daran khayran min darihi, wa ahlan khayran min ahlihi, wa zawjan khayran min zawjihi, wa adkhilhul-jannah, wa a’idhhu min ‘adhabil-qabri aw min ‘adhabin-nar.
English Translation:
“O Allah! Forgive him, have mercy on him, grant him well-being, and pardon him. Honor his resting place, widen his entry, and wash him with water, snow, and hail. Cleanse him of sins as a white garment is cleansed of dirt. Replace his home with a better home, his family with a better family, and his spouse with a better spouse. Admit him to Paradise and protect him from the punishment of the grave or the punishment of the Fire.”
Urdu Translation:
“اے اللہ! اسے بخش دے، اس پر رحم فرما، اسے عافیت عطا کر، اور اسے معاف فرما۔ اس کی میزبانی کو عزت بخش، اس کی قبر کو کشادہ کر، اور اسے پانی، برف، اور اولوں سے دھو دے۔ اس کے گناہوں کو ایسے صاف کر جیسے سفید کپڑا میل کچیل سے پاک کیا جاتا ہے۔ اسے اس کے گھر سے بہتر گھر، اس کے اہل خانہ سے بہتر اہل خانہ، اور اس کے شریک حیات سے بہتر شریک حیات عطا فرما۔ اسے جنت میں داخل کر اور اسے قبر کے عذاب یا آگ کے عذاب سے بچا۔”

Allahumma ighfir li hayyina wa mayyitina wa shahidina wa gha’ibina wa sagheerina wa kabeerina wa dhakarina wa unthana. Allahumma man ahyaytahu minna fa-ahyihi ‘ala al-Islam, wa man tawaffaytahu minna fatawaffahu ‘ala al-Iman. Allahumma la tahrimna ajrahu wa la tudillana ba’dahu.
English Translation:
O Allah, forgive our living and our dead, those present and those absent, our young and our old, our males and our females. O Allah, whoever You keep alive among us, keep him alive upon Islam, and whoever You take away from us, take him away upon faith. O Allah, do not deprive us of his reward, and do not lead us astray after him.
Urdu Translation:
اے اللہ! ہمارے زندوں اور ہمارے مردوں کو بخش دے، ہمارے موجود اور غیر موجود کو، ہمارے چھوٹوں اور بڑوں کو، ہمارے مردوں اور عورتوں کو۔ اے اللہ! جسے تو ہمارے درمیان زندہ رکھے، اسے اسلام پر زندہ رکھ، اور جسے تو ہمارے درمیان سے وفات دے، اسے ایمان پر وفات دے۔ اے اللہ! ہمیں اس کے اجر سے محروم نہ کرنا اور اس کے بعد ہمیں گمراہ نہ کرنا۔

English Translation:
Peace be upon you, O inhabitants of the graves, from among the believers and Muslims. Indeed, we will soon join you, if Allah wills. I ask Allah for well-being for us and for you.

تم پر سلامتی ہو، اے قبر والوں! جو مومن اور مسلمان ہیں، ان شاء اللہ ہم بھی تم سے آ ملیں گے۔ میں اللہ سے تمہارے اور اپنے لیے عافیت کا سوال کرتا ہوں۔

Bismillah (Thalathan) wa a’udhu billahi wa qudratihi min sharri ma ajidu wa uhadhiru (Sab’a marrat).
English Translation:
In the name of Allah (three times). I seek refuge with Allah and His Power from the evil of what I feel and what I fear (seven times).

اللہ کے نام کے ساتھ (تین بار)۔ میں اللہ اور اس کی قدرت کی پناہ مانگتا ہوں اس چیز کے شر سے جس کا میں سامنا کر رہا ہوں اور جس سے میں ڈرتا ہوں (سات بار)۔

La ilaha illa Allahul-Azeemul-Haleem, la ilaha illa Allahu Rabbul-Arshil-Azeem, la ilaha illa Allahu Rabbus-Samawati wa Rabbul-Ardi wa Rabbul-Arshil-Kareem.
English Translation:
There is no god but Allah, the Magnificent, the Forbearing. There is no god but Allah, the Lord of the Mighty Throne. There is no god but Allah, the Lord of the heavens, the Lord of the earth, and the Lord of the Noble Throne.
Urdu Translation:
اللہ کے سوا کوئی معبود نہیں، جو عظمت والا اور بردبار ہے۔ اللہ کے سوا کوئی معبود نہیں، جو عرشِ عظیم کا رب ہے۔ اللہ کے سوا کوئی معبود نہیں، جو آسمانوں کا رب، زمین کا رب، اور عرشِ کریم کا رب ہے۔

Allahumma ikfini bihalalika an haramika, wa aghnini bifadlika amman siwak.
English Translation:
O Allah! Make me self-sufficient with what is lawful so that I do not need what is unlawful, and make me independent of all others through Your bounty.

اے اللہ! مجھے حلال کے ذریعے حرام سے بچا لے، اور اپنی نعمت کے ذریعے مجھے دوسروں سے بے نیاز کر دے۔

Alhamdu lillahi alladhi ‘aafani mimma ibtalaaka bihi, wa faddalani ‘ala katheerin mimman khalaqa tafdeelan.

All praise is due to Allah who has saved me from what He has afflicted you with and has favored me over many of His creations.

تمام تعریفیں اللہ کے لیے ہیں، جس نے مجھے اس چیز سے محفوظ رکھا جس میں تجھے مبتلا کیا اور مجھے اپنی بہت سی مخلوقات پر فضیلت دی۔

Bismillāhil-ladhī lā yaḍurru maʿa-ismihi shay’un fil-arḍi wa lā fis-samā’, wa huwa as-Samīʿul-ʿAlīm. (Thalātha Marrātin)
English Translation:
In the name of Allah, by whose name nothing can cause harm on earth or in the heavens, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing (three times).

Allahumma inni a’udhu bika minal-hammi wal-hazan, wa a’udhu bika minal-‘ajzi wal-kasal, wa a’udhu bika minal-jubni wal-bukhl, wa a’udhu bika min ghalabatid-dayni wa qahri ar-rijal.
English Translation:
O Allah! I seek refuge in You from worry and sorrow, from helplessness and laziness, from cowardice and miserliness, and from the burden of debt and the oppression of men.

اے اللہ! میں تجھ سے پریشانی اور غم سے، کمزوری اور سستی سے، بزدلی اور کنجوسی سے، قرض کے بوجھ اور لوگوں کے ظلم سے پناہ مانگتا ہوں۔

O Allah! By Your will, we enter the evening and by Your will, we enter the morning; by Your will, we live, and by Your will, we die, and to You is the resurrection.

اے اللہ! تیری مرضی سے ہم نے شام کی، اور تیری مرضی سے ہم نے صبح کی، تیری مرضی سے ہم زندہ ہیں، اور تیری مرضی سے ہم مرتے ہیں، اور تیری ہی طرف لوٹنا ہے۔

O Allah! Let this moon appear over us with security, faith, peace, and Islam. My Lord and your Lord is Allah.

O Allah! Give us rain that is beneficial, nourishing, pleasant, and plentiful, without harm, and let it come immediately, not delayed.

اے اللہ! ہمیں ایسی بارش عطا فرما جو مددگار، خوشگوار، فائدہ مند اور نقصان دہ نہ ہو، جلد آئے، تاخیر نہ ہو۔

Allahumma hawalayna wa la ‘alayna, Allahumma ‘ala al-akami wa al-zirabi wa butuni al-awdiyati wa manabiti al-shajar.
English Translation:
O Allah! Around us and not upon us. O Allah! Send it upon the hills, the small mountains, the valleys, and the places where trees grow.

اے اللہ! ہمارے ارد گرد برسا، ہم پر نہ برسا۔ اے اللہ! اسے پہاڑیوں، چھوٹی چوٹیوں، وادیوں اور درختوں کے اگنے کی جگہوں پر برسا۔

لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ، لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ، يُحْيِي وَيُمِيتُ، وَهُوَ حَيٌّ لَا يَمُوتُ، بِيَدِهِ الْخَيْرُ وَهُوَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ
La ilaha illa Allahu wahdahu la sharika lahu, lahu al-mulku walahu al-hamdu, yuhyi wa yumit, wa huwa hayyun la yamutu, biyadihi al-khayru wa huwa ‘ala kulli shay’in qadir.
English Translation:
There is no deity except Allah, alone, without a partner. His is the dominion, and to Him belongs all praise. He gives life and causes death, and He is Ever-Living and does not die. In His hand is all goodness, and He is over all things competent.
Urdu Translation:
اللہ کے سوا کوئی معبود نہیں، وہ اکیلا ہے، اس کا کوئی شریک نہیں، بادشاہت اسی کی ہے، اور سب تعریفیں اسی کے لیے ہیں، وہی زندگی دیتا ہے اور موت دیتا ہے، اور وہ ہمیشہ زندہ ہے، اسے موت نہیں، اسی کے ہاتھ میں سب بھلائی ہے، اور وہ ہر چیز پر قادر ہے۔

بے شک، ہم اللہ کے لیے ہیں اور بے شک ہم اسی کی طرف لوٹنے والے ہیں۔ اے اللہ! میری اس مصیبت پر مجھے اجر عطا فرما اور اس سے بہتر عطا کر۔

Dhahaba al-zama’u, wabtallati al-urooq, wa thabata al-ajru in sha’ Allah.
English Translation:
The thirst is gone, the veins are moistened, and the reward is confirmed, if Allah wills.

پیاس بجھ گئی، رگیں تر ہوگئیں، اور ان شاء اللہ ثواب ثابت ہوگیا۔

إِنِّي وَجَّهْتُ وَجْهِيَ لِلَّذِي فَطَرَ السَّمَوَاتِ وَالأَرْضَ عَلَى مِلَّةِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ حَنِيفًا وَمَا أَنَا مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ إِنَّ صَلاَتِي وَنُسُكِي وَمَحْيَاىَ وَمَمَاتِي لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ لاَ شَرِيكَ لَهُ وَبِذَلِكَ أُمِرْتُ وَأَنَا مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ اللَّهُمَّ مِنْكَ وَلَكَ
Inni wajjahtu wajhiya lilladhi fataras-samawati wal-arda ala millati Ibrahima hanifan wa ma ana minal-mushrikin. Inna salati wa nusuki wa mahyaya wa mamati lillahi rabbil-alamin. La sharika lahu wa bidhālika umirtu wa ana minal-muslimin. Allahumma minka walak.
English Translation:
Indeed, I have turned my face toward the One who created the heavens and the earth, following the way of Ibrahim, upright, and I am not of the polytheists. Indeed, my prayer, my sacrifice, my life, and my death are for Allah, the Lord of the worlds. He has no partner, and with this, I have been commanded, and I am among the Muslims. O Allah! This is from You and for You.
Urdu Translation:
بے شک میں نے اپنا رخ اس ذات کی طرف کر لیا جس نے آسمانوں اور زمین کو پیدا کیا، یکسو ہو کر، اور میں مشرکوں میں سے نہیں ہوں۔ بے شک میری نماز، میری قربانی، میری زندگی اور میری موت سب اللہ، رب العالمین کے لیے ہیں۔ اس کا کوئی شریک نہیں، اور مجھے اسی کا حکم دیا گیا ہے، اور میں مسلمانوں میں سے ہوں۔ اے اللہ! یہ تجھ سے ہے اور تیرے لیے ہے۔

Arabic Text:
اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ رَبِّي، لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ، خَلَقْتَنِي وَأَنَا عَبْدُكَ، وَأَنَا عَلَىٰ عَهْدِكَ وَوَعْدِكَ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُ، أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا صَنَعْتُ، أَبُوءُ لَكَ بِنِعْمَتِكَ عَلَيَّ، وَأَبُوءُ بِذَنْبِي، فَاغْفِرْ لِي، فَإِنَّهُ لَا يَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوبَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ
Allahumma anta rabbi, la ilaha illa anta, khalaqtani wa ana abduka, wa ana ala ahdika wa wa’dika ma istaṭa’tu, a’udhu bika min sharri ma ṣana’tu, abuu laka bini’matika alayya, wa abuu bidhanbi, faghfir li, fa innahu la yaghfiru al-dhunuba illa anta.
English Translation:
O Allah! You are my Lord, there is no deity except You. You created me, and I am Your servant. I abide by Your covenant and promise to the best of my ability. I seek refuge in You from the evil of what I have done. I acknowledge Your blessings upon me, and I acknowledge my sins. So forgive me, for none forgives sins except You.
Urdu Translation:
اے اللہ! تو میرا رب ہے، تیرے سوا کوئی معبود نہیں، تو نے مجھے پیدا کیا، اور میں تیرا بندہ ہوں، جتنا مجھ سے ہوسکے تیرے عہد اور وعدے پر قائم ہوں، میں اپنے کیے کے شر سے تیری پناہ مانگتا ہوں، میں تیری نعمت کا اقرار کرتا ہوں، اور اپنے گناہوں کا بھی اقرار کرتا ہوں، پس مجھے بخش دے، بے شک تیرے سوا کوئی گناہ نہیں بخش سکتا۔

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْتَخِيرُكَ بِعِلْمِكَ، وَأَسْتَقْدِرُكَ بِقُدْرَتِكَ، وَأَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ فَضْلِكَ الْعَظِيمِ، فَإِنَّكَ تَقْدِرُ وَلَا أَقْدِرُ، وَتَعْلَمُ وَلَا أَعْلَمُ، وَأَنْتَ عَلَّامُ الْغُيُوبِ، اللَّهُمَّ إِنْ كُنْتَ تَعْلَمُ أَنَّ هَذَا الْأَمْرَ خَيْرٌ لِي فِي دِينِي وَمَعَاشِي وَعَاقِبَةِ أَمْرِي، فَاقْدُرْهُ لِي وَيَسِّرْهُ لِي، ثُمَّ بَارِكْ لِي فِيهِ، وَإِنْ كُنْتَ تَعْلَمُ أَنَّ هَذَا الْأَمْرَ شَرٌّ لِي فِي دِينِي وَمَعَاشِي وَعَاقِبَةِ أَمْرِي، فَاصْرِفْهُ عَنِّي وَاصْرِفْنِي عَنْهُ، وَاقْدُرْ لِيَ الْخَيْرَ حَيْثُ كَانَ، ثُمَّ أَرْضِنِي بِهِ
Allahumma inni astakhiruka bi’ilmika, wa astaqdiruka biqudratika, wa as’aluka min fadlika al-azim, fa innaka taqdiru wa la aqdiru, wa ta’lamu wa la a’lamu, wa anta allam al-ghuyub. Allahumma in kunta ta’lamu anna hadha al-amra khayrun li fi dini wa ma’ashi wa aqibati amri, faqdurhu li wa yassirhu li, thumma barik li fihi. Wa in kunta ta’lamu anna hadha al-amra sharrun li fi dini wa ma’ashi wa aqibati amri, fasrifhu anni wasrifni anhu, waqdur liya al-khayra haythu kana, thumma ardini bihi.
English Translation:
O Allah! I seek Your guidance through Your knowledge, and I seek Your power through Your might, and I ask You from Your great bounty. For You have power, and I have none. You know, and I do not know, and You are the Knower of the unseen. O Allah! If this matter is good for me in my religion, my livelihood, and the outcome of my affairs, then ordain it for me, make it easy for me, and bless it for me. And if You know that this matter is bad for me in my religion, my livelihood, and the outcome of my affairs, then turn it away from me and turn me away from it. And decree for me what is good wherever it may be, and make me content with it.
Urdu Translation:
اے اللہ! میں تیرے علم کے ذریعے تجھ سے خیر طلب کرتا ہوں، اور تیری قدرت کے ذریعے تجھ سے طاقت مانگتا ہوں، اور تیرے عظیم فضل سے سوال کرتا ہوں، کیونکہ تو قدرت رکھتا ہے اور میں قدرت نہیں رکھتا، تو جانتا ہے اور میں نہیں جانتا، اور تو غیبوں کو جاننے والا ہے۔ اے اللہ! اگر تو جانتا ہے کہ یہ معاملہ میرے دین، میری زندگی اور میرے انجام کے لحاظ سے میرے لیے بہتر ہے تو اسے میرے لیے مقدر فرما، اور میرے لیے آسان کر دے، اور اس میں برکت عطا کر، اور اگر تو جانتا ہے کہ یہ معاملہ میرے دین، میری زندگی اور میرے انجام کے لحاظ سے میرے لیے برا ہے تو اسے مجھ سے دور کر دے، اور مجھے اس سے دور کر دے، اور میرے لیے خیر مقدر فرما، جہاں بھی ہو، اور مجھے اس پر راضی کر دے۔

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ مِنَ الْخَيْرِ كُلِّهِ، عَاجِلِهِ وَآجِلِهِ، مَا عَلِمْتُ مِنْهُ وَمَا لَمْ أَعْلَمْ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الشَّرِّ كُلِّهِ، عَاجِلِهِ وَآجِلِهِ، مَا عَلِمْتُ مِنْهُ وَمَا لَمْ أَعْلَمْ، اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ خَيْرِ مَا سَأَلَكَ عَبْدُكَ وَنَبِيُّكَ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا عَاذَ مِنْهُ عَبْدُكَ وَنَبِيُّكَ، اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ الْجَنَّةَ، وَمَا قَرَّبَ إِلَيْهَا مِنْ قَوْلٍ أَوْ عَمَلٍ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ النَّارِ، وَمَا قَرَّبَ إِلَيْهَا مِنْ قَوْلٍ أَوْ عَمَلٍ، وَأَسْأَلُكَ أَنْ تَجْعَلَ كُلَّ قَضَاءٍ قَضَيْتَهُ لِي خَيْرًا
Allahumma inni as’aluka minal-khayri kullihi, ‘ajilihi wa ajilihi, ma alimtu minhu wa ma lam a’lam, wa a’udhu bika minash-sharri kullihi, ‘ajilihi wa ajilihi, ma alimtu minhu wa ma lam a’lam. Allahumma inni as’aluka min khayri ma sa’alaka ‘abduka wa nabiyyuka, wa a’udhu bika min sharri ma ‘adha minhu ‘abduka wa nabiyyuka. Allahumma inni as’alukal-jannata, wa ma qarraba ilayha min qawlin aw ‘amal, wa a’udhu bika minan-nar, wa ma qarraba ilayha min qawlin aw ‘amal, wa as’aluka an taj’ala kulla qada’in qadaytahu li khayra.
English Translation:
O Allah! I ask You for all that is good, now and in the future, what I know and what I do not know. And I seek refuge in You from all evil, now and in the future, what I know and what I do not know. O Allah! I ask You for the best of what Your servant and Prophet (peace be upon him) asked of You. And I seek refuge in You from the worst of what Your servant and Prophet (peace be upon him) sought refuge from. O Allah! I ask You for Paradise and every word and deed that brings me closer to it. And I seek refuge in You from Hellfire and every word and deed that brings me closer to it. And I ask You to make every decree You have ordained for me good.
Urdu Translation:
اے اللہ! میں تجھ سے ہر بھلائی کا سوال کرتا ہوں، جو جلدی حاصل ہونے والی ہو یا بعد میں، جو میں جانتا ہوں اور جو میں نہیں جانتا۔ اور میں تجھ سے ہر برائی سے پناہ مانگتا ہوں، جو جلدی آنے والی ہو یا بعد میں، جو میں جانتا ہوں اور جو میں نہیں جانتا۔ اے اللہ! میں تجھ سے وہی بھلائی مانگتا ہوں جو تیرے بندے اور نبی نے تجھ سے مانگی، اور میں اس برائی سے تیری پناہ مانگتا ہوں جس سے تیرے بندے اور نبی نے پناہ مانگی۔ اے اللہ! میں تجھ سے جنت کا سوال کرتا ہوں اور اس کے قریب کرنے والے اعمال و اقوال کا، اور میں جہنم سے تیری پناہ مانگتا ہوں اور اس کے قریب کرنے والے اعمال و اقوال سے، اور میں تجھ سے دعا کرتا ہوں کہ جو فیصلہ تو نے میرے لیے کیا ہے، اسے میرے حق میں بہتر بنا دے۔
